This page explains the cookies Welcome to West Georgia uses, the categories we set them in, and how you can change your choice. For broader information about how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let the site remember things like whether you have accepted analytics or marketing tracking, whether you are signed in to a claimed listing, and whether a checkout session is in progress.
Categories We Use
Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to operate, including authentication for claimed listings, payment-session cookies during Stripe Checkout, and your cookie-consent choice itself. These are always on.
Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 cookies that help us understand which pages residents visit and how they reach us. Off by default. Set only after you allow analytics in our cookie banner.
Marketing & advertising cookies: used to measure our advertising, attribute sign-ups and checkouts to the campaign that drove them, and match audiences on ad platforms such as Meta and Google. Off by default. Set only after you allow marketing in our cookie banner.
Functional cookies: small UX state, for example whether you have already seen a newsletter popup. Generally first-party and short-lived. Always on.
Specific Cookies
wtg_cookie_consent — Strictly necessary. Records your cookie-consent choice for analytics and marketing. Lifetime: 1 year.
wtg_first_touch — Marketing. A first-party attribution cookie that records the campaign, source, or referrer that first brought you to the site so we can credit the right channel when you sign up or check out. Set only with marketing consent. Lifetime: 90 days.
_ga, _ga_* — Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Lifetime: 2 years (configurable in GA4).
Meta and Google advertising cookies — Marketing. Set by Meta (Facebook) and Google ad pixels to measure ad performance and build audiences. Set only with marketing consent.
HubSpot cookies (hubspotutk, __hssc, __hssrc, __hstc) — Marketing. Set by our HubSpot CRM to associate form fills and visits with a contact record. Active only once our CRM is live and only with marketing consent.
Sanity preview cookie — Functional. Set only inside our content studio when an editor previews unpublished content. Not set for ordinary visitors.
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid — Strictly necessary, set by Stripe during checkout for fraud prevention. Lifetime: session and 1 year.
__clerk_* — Strictly necessary, set when you sign in to claim or edit a listing. Lifetime: session and up to 7 days for the refresh token.
Newsletter popup state — Functional. A small client-side flag that prevents the same popup from re-firing within a single session.
Managing Your Cookies
You can change your choice anytime by clicking "Cookie preferences" in our site footer. The banner lets you accept all, allow essential only, or customize analytics and marketing independently. You can also clear the wtg_cookie_consent cookie in your browser settings.
Most browsers also let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or alert you when a cookie is set. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break account, claim, and payment flows.
Do Not Track
We honor your browser’s Do Not Track signal. When DNT is on, the cookie banner stays hidden, neither analytics nor marketing cookies are set, and we record an essential-only consent on your behalf.
Changes to This Policy
If we add new cookies or change how existing cookies are used, we will update this page and the cookie banner will reappear so you can record a fresh choice.
